What is Stretch Therapy?

Think full body relaxation meets intentional and meaningful stretching.

Stretching can be a great tool to help us get into our bodies and helps support a tissue’s ability to lengthen, therefore contributing to the overall health of the muscle and range of motion. However, when performed improperly, unsafely, or unnecessarily, it can place us at risk for injury. That is why it’s important to learn how to stretch and what tissues could benefit from intentional stretch with a trained provider!

Stretch Therapy as a modality is designed to intentionally lengthen certain tissues in a way that is safe for the body while also allowing for maximum relaxation, which maximizes the benefits of a stretch!

What to expect from a Stretch Therapy session:

starting with an assessment and conversation, we begin your session by learning how your body moves and where it’s restrictions / target areas of focus are, and any specific goals you may have.

based on your assessment and goals, i will assist you through a thoughtfully arranged series of relaxing, floor-based stretches and breathing techniques targeted towards your goals.

to conclude your session, we will always reassess to see what effect we had! depending on your goals and commitment, you may also be given exercises or stretches to practise at home.

like anything, stretching takes commitment and consistency to reap the full benefits!
